DSU Bylaws Section X

General

1. Insubordination will not be tolerated. Refusal to execute an order will be taken to the Board of Directors with the recommendation for disciplinary action.

2. Awards and Letters of Recommendataion:

A. Posse Person of the Year Award

At the January meeting, the top 3 to 5 leading volunteers (in hours) will be automaticlly be nominated for this award. Any additional nominees will be submitted in writing at January meeting.

Also, at the January meeting, the selection of the Awardee shall be accomplished by written ballot. The ballot should consist of the majority vote of the attending membership.

The Posse Person of the Year in the unit shall be recognized formally with the presentation of an award (not to exceed thirty dollars ($30.00) at a Unit function during the first quarter of the year.

3. Dissoluting of the Desert Search Unit

Upon Dissolution of the unit:

A. Funds

Unit funds will be used to purchase needed equipment for donation to a volunteer Search and Rescue organization in the State of Arizona.

B. Equipment

Unit equipment will be donated to a volunteer Search and Rescue organization in the State of Arizona.

C. Volunteer Search and Rescue Organization

This organization will be determined by nomination and vote of the unit membership at the time of dissolution.

D. Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Property

Any property belonging to the MCSO and in unit possession at time of dissolusion will be returned to the Sheriff's office.

These bylaws were enacted upon, revised and passed by the Board of Directors on January 1, 2005; reflective of that date. All previous Bylaws and Rules are hereby null and void.
