DSU Bylaws Section IV

Administration

1. The following Chain of Command will be in effect:

a. Posse Commander - Captian

b. Executive Officer - Lieutenant

c. Section Leaders - Lieutenant

2. No member may change or violate a rule or bylaw of this Unit if said rule or bylaw has been approved by the Board of Directors. (ref. Section IV, item 3)

3. A Board of Directors shall be elected by the membership. The board members shall consist of a minimum of three to a maximum of five members in all. The Posse Camander shall not have a vote in any decisions voted on by the Board of Directors.

4. The Board of Directors shall elect a Chair person from one of its members. Decisions reached by the Board of Directors regarding individuals within the unit shall be binding. The Board of Directors shall always respect the right of an individual to appeal a decision of that Board of Directors to the Commander. All decisions shall be communicated to the Posse Commander for execution.

5. The Board of Directors' courses of action for the following offenses are:

A. Arrears of Dues for three consecutive months will cause the Board to inform the member of the delinquency. After the fourth consecutive month, the member will be terminated.

B. Non-participation in unit functions will result in review by the Board of Directors and notification to the member. If no change is noted in the member's participation, the board will take further action, up to and including termination.

C. The Posse Commander will be informed of this action. The Board of Directors will return their findings, or action against the member, in writing to his mailing address as is indicated on the unit personnel roster.

6. An Oral Review Board shall consist of three members as assigned by the Posse Commander. Their purpose will be that of interviewing all new applicants on a person to person basis.
